Welcome to my portfolio! Here you will find a collection of my work samples and personal narratives that demonstrate my skills and experience within the field of learning design and technology. The artifacts included within the profile are pieces of work that I completed while achieving my master’s degree in the Learning Design and Technologies program at The University of South Carolina.
My teaching journey began with teaching 6th grade Math and English at R.H. Fulmer Middle School. I spent every waking moment of my first year trying to figure out what I could do better to help my students learn the materials. I felt like I was running in circles, doing the same thing repeatedly. It was not until I took my first graduate school class that I realized how many online resources were available. It was not until my second class that I learned that there were thousands of instructional strategies, one that might be perfect for my classroom. I could feel myself and my students growing with each new strategy I was able to use. Shortly into my teaching career, I began serving as a math interventionist at Fulmer. This was when it became even more important for me to implement the new resources at hand so that I could create differentiated instruction for my students that needed a little extra help.
My goals as a teacher are to show my students kindness and to create opportunities for them to learn. It has been through all I have learned during my undergraduate degree in Middle Level Education and my graduate degree in Learning Design and Technologies that I have been able to be successful in these goals.
